The End.

The Summit has come and gone, but the experience was truly unforgettable.  Thanks to all those that made it possible- the French Organizers, our fantastic delegates, and the delegates from around the world.  Also, a big Thank You to our Canadian OC Chair, Sachi Lovatt, for putting the phenomenal team together!

To the rest of the Canadian OC- CONGRATULATIONS! All your work paid off and the Canadian delegation was an integral part of a final communique that was both forward-thinking and pragmatic.

Until next year…

Countdown to the Communique

Greetings!

Today was the final day of ministerial discussions, and Canada performed extremely well.  Despite high-tensions during these conversations, our delegation was commendable in their diplomacy and negotiating, and truly demonstrated the Canadian values that make our political, economic, and social foreign policies distinct.

In terms of agenda setting, at the moment the Ministry of Development, as well as the Ministry of Finance has officially completed their sections of the communique, with Defense poised to complete theirs soon as well.  The others are still in the process of negotiations.

Day 1; Negotiations

Yesterday we officially began the negotiations in the different ministries.  The summit is off to a great start.  Today, the discussions continue as the issues are substantiated and the Ministers begin their deliberating.

The Canadian Ministers are proceeding quite well in their discussions and representing Canada superbly.  The first day of negotiations helped establish some concrete agenda topics, and each Ministry is well on their way to drafting their individual communique.
